After more than three decades serving Texas Public Schools, CCISD's superintendent Dr. Joe Burns announced his plans to retire during Tuesday's Board of Trustees Meeting.

Students in Mrs. Papson's and Ms. Russell's class are learning to share and play in centers. Having lots of fun with Playdoh, gluing, tracing, writing, and counting.

Our schools recently finished their first drills of the new school year, including Mae Stevens Early Learning Academy, where Mrs. Zimmer's class is pictured practicing their tornado drill.



Bulldawg families, don't forget there is no school Monday, on the Labor Day holiday. We will resume classes Tuesday morning.

During Thursday night's special meeting of the CCISD Board of Trustees, the district's tax rate was set & the budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25 was adopted.

Mrs. McElroy's and Mrs. Henrich's classes recently got to visit Ms. Richmond in the dragon-themed Literacy Center at Mae Stevens Early Learning Academy!
Students enjoyed the room and the books they were able to check out.

Don't forget about our annual Spirit Spectacular tomorrow night! Admission is free, but there will be a raffle to support the band boosters as well as buckets to collect peanut butter for this year's Peanut Butter Bowl.


Thank you to the folks at InteLogix for their generous donation! They recently brought a car full of school supplies to the district office, to help ensure every student can start the year off right.



Students in Mrs. Zimmer-Clark's and Mrs. K. Jones' classroom are practicing their safety drills. Today they practiced one of the safety drills and how to proceed to their designated Shelter room and sit and cover their head for protection. Students did an awesome job.



CCISD is excited to continue its journey with Capturing Kids' Hearts, an effort in social-emotional learning which helps foster better student-teacher relationships.
We started the year with a re-launch and it had teachers excited to start the year!
