Parents/Guardians, In the event of extreme weather, such as lightning and/or thunderstorms, walkers will not be dismissed until the campus determines that it is safe. Students will NOT be dismissed if there is lighting within 10 miles of the campus for a minimum of 30 minutes. In addition, walkers will NOT be dismissed if their visibility is impeded. Friendly reminder, the Parsons’ front loop is for Bus dismissal only. For the safety of our students, walkers are not dismissed until all buses have left the driveway. Copperas Cove ISD has seen enormous benefits after implementing a successful curriculum focused on phonics and phonemic awareness for students in Pre-K through 6th grade, building a strong foundation for all subjects. Every teacher in Copperas Cove serving Pre-K through 3rd grade students has completed the Texas Reading Academies, gaining valuable training, classroom observations and coaching from highly-qualified educators to ensure the teachers are well-equipped to support our students’ literacy development. Every administrator at a CCISD elementary campus has also completed the Texas Reading Academies, further strengthening our commitment to lead our district to outstanding early literacy achievement.
