Students in Ms. Bryant's Farm to Table classes took advantage of the great weather today to work in the gardens, getting them ready for fall planting. They moved dirt and filled the planter boxes. way to go, Pups!!! We're proud of you!

Today is popcorn/giant game reward day for Mrs. Brigg's Theater Classes. The students got popcorn and were able to play giant versions of games like Connect 4 and Sorry. Game Day is an earned incentive for positive behavior and passing grades. Way to go, Pups!!!

Congratulations to the following girls for being named Players of the Tournament for Volleyball: Addison Price, Brooklyn Caskey, Kaiya Whitehurst, Sanicia Tulensru, and Zoey Kissenger. Way to go, girls!!!! We're proud of you!!!

Pancakes for breakfast? Yes, please. To celebrate National Pancake Day, the CCJHS Admin Team cooked up breakfast for their faculty and staff. Teachers were greeted with a warm, delicious breakfast this Friday morning.

It has begun... 3D Wound Makeup Application Day.  Students in Claudia Briggs' Theater classes practice their make-up skills by creating "wounds" on each other.

Our Junior Student-2-Student (JS2S) Military Connected Student Organization helped kick off the day with a warm “Hello” in honor of the Sandy Hook Promise initiative. Students passed out snacks to help start their day. 💚
JS2S is a student-led program that welcomes and supports new students, especially military-connected families, helping build kindness, connection, and inclusion across our school community.

Our Copperas Cove Junior High Starlettes and Cheerleaders had the opportunity to visit Martin Walker Elementary for their Attendance Party and Pep Rally, and I could not be prouder​​ of how our girls represented CCJH. They didn’t just show up to perform—they showed up with heart. 💛 From cheering alongside the younger students to bonding with them one-on-one, they modeled leadership, kindness, and responsibility in such a powerful way. The joy they brought to those elementary students was contagious, and the impact they made went far beyond cheers and chants.- Coach Adrianna Fox

This week kicked off our Football season and our teacher of the week nominations!!

7th Grade Football chose.....................................Mrs. Weikum! Student comments included that she cares even when they test her the most, she always makes time to hear them out, and that they always know that she supports them.

8th Grade Football chose.....................................Mrs. Mobely! Student comments included that she's one of the nicest teachers they have ever had. That she takes time to hear them out and help them even when they don't deserve it. She gives them chances to make up assignments often and is always there for them.

Teachers, we as a coaching staff hold you in the highest regard, we appreciate all the work and effort you have put in this 6 weeks and we are looking forward to seeing more of you win this honor and hear these athletes put in their own words what you mean to them.

September 22-26

Start with Hello is a program created through the Sandy Hook Promise to help students, teachers, parents, and community leaders feel more connected. Start with a Hello is based on three simple steps: see someone alone, reach out and help, and start with Hello. This planned event is to help reduce social isolation and increase connectivity among students, faculty, and staff.

Hey Day! Monday, September 22nd- No School for students. acts of Kindness. Say hello to someone you don't know.

Encourage Everyone! Tuesday, September 23rd- Wear a T-shirt with an encouraging message. Crazy socks to spread kindness, too. (Must BE IN DRESS CODE.) Act of Kindness: Compliment Day- Give one, get one.

Let's Reach Out and Connect! Wednesday, September 24th- Green Out!! Wear Green today! , as it is the symbol for unity and solidarity with the Sandy Hook Promise. Act of Kindness: Hello Greeters- Pass out "Hello Passes" to meet new people.

Look for Ways to Help! Thursday, September 25th- Wear PINK for compassion and care. Act of Kindness: Be the "i" in KIND and write a kindness note to one of your teachers or any staff at CCJHS and let them know how you feel about them.

Own it! Make it your JOB to be the NICE kid! Friday, September 26th- We are ONE team. All students and staff are encouraged to wear our school colors (BLUE and GOLD.) Act of Kindness: What's your HELLO style? Fist Bump, High-Five, Elbow Bump? Share it!

Homecoming Spirit Week is in full force at CCJHS. Tuesday's Color War day between grade levels was a great success. 6th grade wore red. 7th grade wore pink and 8th grade wore green. Who knows what Wednesday's mix-and-match day will bring?

Hey CCJHS!! Friday is Homecoming. Let's show our school pride! Wear your BLUE and Gold!! Go Dawgs!

7th-grade students collaborated in their Reading Language Arts classes to create a paper flag. Students and staff across the whole campus signed their names and messages of gratitude for the service of our First Responders provide. Student ambassador Luca Weikum presented it to the Fire Fighter Crew of the Main Street Fire Station. 

Elena Abercrombie's art class practiced their still life drawing skills. They were given a single yellow rose in a glass and asked to interpret it.

CCJHS Art students in Elena Abercrombie's classes have their zentangle city drawings on display at Robert Gray Airport in Killeen.
